Daniel S. Parsley
Daniel is the Managing Partner of GPG Ventures - Houston. Daniel is a native Houstonian where he has been an active venture investor in early-stage medical device, biotech, digital health, insurance, and technology companies.
Daniel is a passionate venture entrepreneur having started, led, advised, and funded numerous early-stage technology companies over the past 25 years. He has personally invested in over 40 early-stage companies. Most recently, Daniel led the nationwide syndication investor network of a crowd-funding investment platform focused on early-stage medical innovation.
Prior to that, Daniel was involved in several technology companies including a 10-year tenure as CEO of SalvageSale, a venture-backed online auction platform, essentially an “industrial eBay”, which was acquired by the world’s largest heavy equipment auction company.
Daniel started his career with Accenture and was a partner with Computer Sciences Corporation before entering the venture community. He has been recognized for his leadership with high growth technology companies and is a frequent entrepreneurial speaker.
He is also very active in the charitable and business community. Daniel currently is a board observer of several portfolio companies including Hooray Health, NonInvasix, NovaScan and WorkShield. He is a director of Texas Business Hall of Fame, past president of the Children’s Museum of Houston, and a member of the San Jose Clinic Advisory Board. He served as an Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 55 of the Boy Scouts of America.
Daniel earned his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and an M.B.A. from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. Daniel is married to Allison Zwiener Parsley. They have three children, one loyal dog, and a fat cat. He enjoys duck hunting, flyfishing, cooking, and golf.
John Leader
John joined GPG Ventures – Houston as a Principal in charge of Investment Operations in May of 2019. John oversees the deal pipeline and evaluation of potential investment opportunities as well as managing the post-investment activities related to portfolio company and investor relations. John has extensive venture and entrepreneurial experience in the early-stage healthcare, commercial real estate, and software industries among others. Since January 2017, he has managed over 40 venture transactions comprising more than $20 million in early-stage healthcare companies.
John is a native Houstonian, a graduate of St. John’s School, and holds a B.S.B.A. from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business with majors in Finance and in Operations & Information Management. He holds a Series 65 certification and is actively pursuing his CFA and CAIA designations. John is a diehard Houston sports fan and spends plenty of time at the park with his dog Baxter as well as volunteering with the Houston Food Bank and his neighborhood Civic Club.
